From Funding to Impact: Research and Teaching [Day 1 of 2]

Event Description:
The Office of Academic Research (OAR) together with the Centre for Teaching Excellence and Innovation (CTEI) are thrilled to be co-hosting an upcoming online faculty showcase event – From Funding to Impact: Research and Teaching!
From Funding to Impact: Research and Teaching brings together faculty members who are undertaking research projects funded through Yorkville University and Toronto Film School. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore innovative research, discover how it is shaping teaching and learning, and celebrate the impactful work happening across our academic community.
The event will take place across two days:
- Dates: Monday, September 21 + Wednesday, September 23
- Time: 12:30-5:30 p.m. (AT) | 11:30-4:30 p.m. (ET) | 8:30-1:30 p.m. (PT)

In addition to opening/closing remarks each day from Yorkville and TFS leadership, each day will also feature a Book Raffle draw for a few lucky, randomly-drawn attendees to choose a book to receive from “Drs. Thu and Tommy’s Top Recommendations for Research on/as Teaching in 2026 Beyond”!
Book Raffle details:
- As part of the Closing each day of From Funding to Impact: Research and Teaching, we will randomly draw x2 names of eligible attendees who can choose one of the four titles listed below that OAR + CTEI will purchase on each of their behalf and have shipped to them
- To be eligible for the book draw, attendees must attend at least one session on the day to be entered into that respective end-of-day draw
- Each eligible name will only be entered once each day
- An individual can only win one book so that we have x4 unique folks receiving books by the end of From Funding to Impact: Research and Teaching
